Cover reveal for CITY OF LIES by Sam Hawke
I cannot tell you how excited I am to be able share the fabulous cover that the good folks in the art department of Tor US have created for Sam Hawke's debut novel CITY OF LIES with an amazing cover illustration by Greg Ruth. Tor.com have the cover reveal blog post here. It seems so long since I first signed Sam up and we're now getting closer and closer to publication in July 2018. It's very exciting!
On top of this brilliant cover we've also got amazing advance author reviews coming in, not least from Robin Hobb and Terry Brooks.
'If the first line doesn’t make you buy this book, you should turn in your fantasy-lover’s badge. . . a tale about the one who risks his life to thwart assassins can be as compelling as any assassin’s tale' Robin Hobb
'A tale of poisoners, deceit and treachery that will surely keep readers entranced. I don’t read many stories as twisty and unpredictable' Terry Brooks
And it's true about that first line. That line has remained untouched by agent, editor, copyeditor and proofreader throughout the entire process. You don't mess with a perfect opening statement such as this: I was seven years old the first time my uncle poisoned me . . .
